I installed Drupal 6.16 by my cp provided by my host. Then I downloaded the FCKEditor 6.x-2.1 and I also tried another ver. 6.x-2.x-dev but all my efforts went in vain. I followed all the steps indicated in the readme.txt file especially those for activating and giving permissions. The most strange thing to me is that the readme.txt files says that the directory sites/all/modules/fckeditor/fckeditor/ should have the
following files:
- fckeditor.js
- fckconfig.js
- fckstyles.xml
- fcktemplates.xml
- fckeditor.php
- fckeditor_php4.php
- fckeditor_php5.php

and after extraction i found non of any of the above said files in the said folder.

I would pray and appreciate any help from kind people.

You should download FCKEditor from http://ckeditor.com/download then unzip into your folder.

Good luck ;)

After having successfully installed the FcKEditor on my Drupal 6.16, I found the text area is appearing in blue color just like the color of the theme background. I have tried many of the settings, but it has not changed. I should be so grateful for any help

Can I suggest using CKEditor instead? It is the successor to FCKEditor, and is much nicer. And FCKeditor will eventually die, as they will be focusing more energy into CKeditor than FCKeditor.

Plus it's just much nicer.

Contact me to contract me for D7 -> D10/11 migrations.
