This one really baffled me... and still baffles me, now that I've found the cause. Basically, it's all in the title: my search results pager was not showing up. Did extensive troubleshooting. Finally determined that disabling Modal Frame API (with no other changes), brought the pager back.

Before disabling Modal Frame I had tried:

  • switching to Garland theme
  • disabling all blocks
  • disabling all search contrib modules (like Search Lucene)
  • making SURE that I have more than 10 results

I originally posted this issue here, before I narrowed it down to a Modal Frame API bug.

Anybody have any idea what's going on here, and how to fix this?

Sorry, this issue appears to be related to the Node Relationships module (which depends on Modal Frame API), rather than Modal Frame API directly.
