Hej,
today I performed the (automatic) update of the Firefox Add-on - it updated me to Version 0.0.6. After the upgrade all the icons of the other Add-ons were gone from my location bars etc. Also my custom layout of the location bar got broken.
Using
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; de; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3
With quite a list of other Add-ons - however it was working fine before :-)
Thanks

populist commentedDoes uninstalling the extension solve the problem? The update was relatively minor (just added a Page tab) and cannot replicate on my installation.

pkiff commentedI experienced a similar problem with my automatic update of the addon as well. Running Firefox 3.6.3 on XP SP3. Others on the Mozilla addon site seem to be giving the same feedback. Not sure what exactly is causing the problem, but here is a way to attempt to duplicate it.
One example of an addon affected is Brief, which is supposed to inserts an icon into your toolbar:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4578
With Drupal for Firebug 0.0.6, I can reproduce the problem on my install by simply enabling and disabling the Drupal for Firebug addon. With it enabled, the Brief icon disappears and it is no longer available as a choice in the customize toolbar. When I disable it, the icon appears again in the customize toolbar list so I can drag it to back onto the toolbar.

nhck commentedDeactivating makes it go back to normal. Also I just uninstalled it and installed it again, but that does not make a difference.
Furthermore I went and disabled each Add-on one by one to check for interferences. Obviously the problem ceases to exist when I disable FireBug, but I haven't found any other Add-on to cause problems.
Then I was thinking it might be related to the language-version of Firefox, but when I tested with a portable US-Firefox (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3) the problem also occurred (installed Firebug, DrupalforFirebug, TinyMenu).

populist commentedI tracked it down (I think) to some jQuery incompatibility with certain other extensions. The 0.0.7 hopefully resolves - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/downloads/file/87385/drupalforf...

whatdoesitwant commentedOn my set up (Windows 7 with 3.6.3) only Web Developer was affected. E.g. Operator was still available.
If for some reason deactivating drupalforfirebug does not help, close Firefox hard (File > Exit) and restart into safe mode. Optionally you can check the first option. Now try to uninstall drupalforfirebug altogether and restart Firefox. You'll need to reactivate your addons if you had disabled them in the previous step.

Sohodojo Jim commentedDitto here. The automatic 0.0.6 update nuked my DBGbar (DBG debugger toolbar) while all others currently installed were fine. Everything up-to-date OS, browser, and add-on wise. Disabling let's DBGBar come back to life.

pkiff commentedHey populist, v.0.0.7 seems to solve all issues in my configuration. Specifically, the Brief add-on seems unaffected, and the Web Development Toolbar (which I was also having problems with, and which whatdoesitwant mentions abvove), also seems to work fine now.
I had to re-insert all the web developer toolbar icons onto the web developer toolbar, even after uninstalling both add-ons, and re-installing only the web developer toolbar, but as far as I can tell, the toolbar is now 100% functional and intact. Not sure why the web developer toolbar wouldn't be entirely rebuilt during an uninstall/reinstall cycle without the drupalforfirebug even installed anymore, but others who run into this problem may need to do some kind of manual customization reconstruction of their web developer toolbar as well.
For Brief, the icon restores itself as soon as drupalforfirebug 0.0.6 is disabled, and remains correctly in place with 0.0.7.
Thanks for all your hard work on this add-on, and for the prompt attention to this issue.
Regards,
Phil.

nhck commentedI upgraded to 0.07 and resolves the issue. You should make it public so it can push through on the AutoUp-Date-Channel. (I currently downloaded it from here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addons/versions/8370)
Thanks for the quick response populist - nice work.

whatdoesitwant commented@phil When starting firefox into safe mode you can clean house by checking the 2nd option as well. But that will reset all your toolbars, not just the web developer toolbar. If you use many other toolbars, i figure you do not want to do that. Otherwise that should do the trick.
