On 6.15: Some files which I attached to a node a little over a year ago have turned into broken links. The link as reported now is http://www.cintegrity.com/sites/cintegrity.com/files/sites/default/files... when actually it should be http://www.cintegrity.com/sites/cintegrity.com/files/DEV-35_Mercer-Hursh... . So, rather than worry about how the extra directories got in there, I decided to just reattach them. There were two files, a PDF and an MP3. The PDF reloaded just fine, but every effort to reload the MP3, in native form as it was before or zipped, gave me a validation error. Subsequent to getting this validation error, no attachments show on the page, including the PDF which did load successfully.

I have put in < a > links to the files ... which were there all along, but what's up here? Is there a point in trying to delete and recreate the page?

If the files had been loaded via upload module, you might want to look at site adminstration -> File upload configurations to see if you have configured the site to allow mp3 uploads.

I'm doing the uploads as the site administrator. I am familiar with the messages for attempting to upload content of the wrong type from another site where I am typically not acting as the administrator and this is entirely different. It doesn't complain at the start, which the other does as soon as it sees an extension it doesn't like, but instead acts as if it is uploading. There is a very long period in which it looks like it is 90% uploaded, but still says Please Wait ... easily several minutes. It is a 13MB file, so I don't expect it to be instantaneous, but it seems awfully long. Then, when the Verification Error message comes out, it wipes out all of the prior content in the Attachment box on the page.
