Ive have been looking around for awhile for a quality classifieds module, with no luck. I then went on drupalancers.com and submitted this project to be built. I have found a consultant, Mike at IXIS.

I originally wanted him to do something similar to:http://www.activefarming.com/classifieds-for-drupal

But he came back with this; "We can do one better and produce a classified system using CCK, images and the flexibility of adding additional advert types. Using CCK over Flexinode will provide more robustness for site scalability - if you hope it will grow. As a team we can produce the work quickly, and if needed offer additional (cost) web design services to make the classifieds look eye catching and appealing. Previous work is available in our portfolio: www.ixis.co.uk/portfolio"

I have since been in talks with him to create this classifieds module which would support payments and images.

* If the classified is free they would not need to be registered as a paid-for-advert
* user creates an advert node (could be one of any amount) but it would remain unpublished
* on creation of an advert node they would have an item added to their shopping basket (ecommerce package)
* the user would be pushed through to the checkout, or maybe they could create multiple adverts in one go?
* upon payment completion the advert node would become published for all to read.

The cost to build such a module is going to be around $2000 U.S.D.

I am currently having this type of module developed (outsourcing).
Developement will start after Thanksgiving
Please contact me about your ideas and what functionality, integration you guys want added with it. Lets see if this is feasable.

I think you've covered all my needs.
I was looking for a largely free classified system except for specific items and think that you have included the necessary and usefyl user and back end components.

As always, I can only throw in 10-20 bucks though....a far cry from 2000.

For some reason, donorge donations are not being delivered to me, so I'd advise against using donorge for now. Regarding getting access to the module for testing, I'll let you know asap - if I receive enough donations, I'll be able to dedicate time to getting this finished, and will release it more quickly. Otherwise, it'll take longer. I would like to put together a list of beta testers, though. So, feel free to send me a mail at exodusdev@gmail.com requesting participation in the beta test.

Currently, it looks like you've only made your announcement in two places: (1) here as a reply to the original comment and (2) at http://groups.drupal.org/node/1923. However, the majority of folks probably won't find this buried reply nor the groups.drupal.org announcement without you first posting a fresh forum topic at drupal.org.

In order to more broadly inform Drupal users and to help with potential donations, I would suggest that you make a general announcement of your upcoming classifieds module and your "reverse bounty" needs by choosing the appropriate drupal.org forum. Be sure to include a link to http://groups.drupal.org/node/1923 where you have already listed good info.

Thanks, Walt, for the reminder - I thought my reply to the forum topic was sufficient (not wanting to violate proper Drupal.org etiquette, I am never sure when it's ok to post a new forum topic.)

I'll do a proper announcement when I have some time to consider the wording.

I'm also very concerned about the status of the Donorge.org donations - I don't know if the donors received refunds, and I may have created some confusion and/or made a bad impression. Ah, well, live and learn.

this would be a great addition to dupal. i am trying to create a classifieds system too using cck and ecommerce. it would be great to have a module that took credit cards.

another key functionality should be auto expiry of ads - with email warnings and options to renew the purchase.

it's customized. no new modules were involved.

It uses CCK and a modfied node.tpl.php and page.tpl.php
It also acceptes clickbank.

Hi,

I'm looking for help on the following issue for setting up Classified Ads Module.

1. a.

I installed the module and then i created menu item by editing default item from Navigation. Actually when the module is installed with the following path and added parent item as primary links, menu item is created fine but the same menu item is gone once admin logged out which means visitor is not able to see Classifieds Ads menu item in site menu. Permissions are fine too.

And when i use the Path like this, every visitor and registered user can see it in site menu.

2. When i use 1.a. and click on menu item, respective posting form is opened and hence i am able to post content.

But when i user 1.b. and click on menu item, posting form is not opened.

Basically my requirement is:

When i click on menu item i should be able to see first all the previously posted Classified Ads and then posting form or link should be appeared in the same page so that i should be able to post Classified Ads.

For example it should be just like Forum module in which any user can see the posted threads list and then post a new thread link. And this link either prompts login or shows posting form based on the visiting user or registered user.

Could some one help me to achieve the requirement.
