I am sure this has been documented before, but I want to add one more shout/plea for addressing this really critical problem. Applies to 4.6, 4.7 and dare I say, cvs...

It is this- if you create a custom menu with several menu items, then decide you don't want the menu and delete it, the menu items of the deleted menu are scattered all over the admin/navigation menu.

Other category module users and I have been hounding Jaza over this thinking it to be a bug with category_menu, but it really is a drupal menu system bug. I have been working on a 4.6.9 site (upgraded from 4.6.5) the last few days and decided the delete about a half a dozen menus I was not using. You can see the pretty results in the attached screenshot- all the menu items are from the deleted menu.

The situation is exactly the same in 4.7.3. Please, we can't have such a broken menu system in drupal. Killes provided a patch several months ago that had even Dries interested. Perhaps that is worth exploring?

Is there anything else I can do to help?

I meant to say the situation is the same in 4.7.2. I haven't upgraded to 4.7.3 because of this bug.
