I've enabled the buddylist_access setting, but am not sure how to use this feature. Is it similar to Organic Groups?

I don't believe it is yet supported for the 4.7 version. I could be wrong -- I've been somewhat disconnected from this module for some months.

Ok. It might be time to code-dive. Just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something. Was it working for 4.6?

I've never used it. I took over maintainership of buddylist exclusively for 4.7+. I'd love to find a 4.6 buddylist maintainer! And yes, please do code-dive (check the issue queue, of course... could be someone has worked on it).

Thanks Robert. It seems as though you've been busy fixing bugs. I'm finally about to wade in, but....

Looks as though this contrib is not in the latest 4.7 release (although it's still in CVS). In fact the entire contrib directory has been omitted in the release.

Is this an indication of where those contribs are headed?
