When using this module and assigning an attribute "Required" (per the attribute checkbox), you are presented with the default attribute option in the select box. If you disable this module, you get "Please Select" in the select box.

It's nice to force the user to make a selection.

This issue came first, but the duplicate of it has more detail, so marking this as a dup of #805728: requiring attributes no longer works because "please select" option gone for required attribute
