CVS edit link for Artusamak
Hello, i'd like to get a CVS account because recently Facebook announced social widgets, i decided to implement the i like button for Drupal.
The module allow user to select which method he wants to use to include the button in his page (iframe or Javascript) and he can custom the display of the button (based on Facebook options).
If it's possible i'll try to implement other social widgets.
I checked on the projects pages and it doesn't appear to be a module dedicated to that yet.
I may be also submit a "report abuse" module which is lighter than every thing existing by now (too much configuration options).
And the most information part in my motivation is the fact that i'm a Drupalista! I've (really) started developping for Drupal a year ago and now i always want to do more for the community.
Have a nice day.
:)

Durrok commentedHey Artusamak- I made a similar module but took a slightly different approach then you.
http://drupal.org/node/779498 (bottom zip file)
Since it seems to be taking them awhile to get the CVS applications approved why don't we work together and combine our modules?

artusamakI see that you used blocks, i'm not really confortable with this approach because you can't use it on every nodes if you've got a teaser mode you see? Same thing for comments.
I see that you have been suggested to see what was going on with Drupal for Facebook module, i think it would be better to announced you're available for help :) I won't ask for publishing my module since lot's of people have done the same thing and i think it's better to improve the existing.

sunWe need more collaboration instead of duplication of efforts. See my latest reply over in #779498: Durrok [durrok] -- would be great to see more spirit of "joining forces" here.

florin commentedWhat is the FB application ID? How can I get one?
artusamakThe facebook Application ID is the ID given by facebook if you want to use FBML tags (and the javascript SDK).
You can get one here: http://developers.facebook.com/setup/
It'll allow you to have more functionnality easy to embed (like FB connect and social graph (among a lot of stuff))

Chompas commentedHi, I'm trying to use the Javascript option in your module. I have an application ID but the button did not appear.
artusamakChompas, do you have any javascript error?
Chompas commentedArtusamak, no, no Javascript error. The code appears, but no button.
Also if I use the iFrame approach, the button appears but also in the comments (having that checkbox off).
artusamakChompas, i could help you but it doesn't seems that the module will be published so i probably recommand you to try this module http://drupal.org/project/fb_social which is the most mature integration for now about social plugin (and the "like" features)

avpadernoWhat should the status of this application be?
artusamakI guess it should be closed (postponed?) for now.
avpadernoI can decline it, for now. You can then re-apply when you have another project to put on Drupal.org repository.
