It seems that taxonomy_image is not actively maintained at present. I understand from communication with NancyDru that she hasn't been able to commit time to maintaining this module recently, due to external circumstances.

Eg #438378: function.getimagesize error has been waiting for the application of a trivial patch (RTBC five months ago now).

Floating this issue so that people may put their hand up and offer to co-maintain this widely used module.

NancyDru, if you are still committed to maintaining this module, then please feel free to tell us how we can best support you in doing so. If you're open to having a co-maintainer, that would be good to know (much better than having to follow the abandoned module process).

Potential co-maintainers, please consider whether you have time and energy to commit to this module. If you feel you're the right person, or might be, your contribution will likely be welcomed by the many users of this module.
