-------------------

The Octazen team wanted to let you, our valued customers, know that the company recently received an offer to acquire most of the company's assets and to employ those assets in a different direction. After carefully evaluating this offer, our team believes this is a wonderful opportunity of which we must take advantage.

As a result, effective immediately, Octazen will no longer accept new service contracts or renew existing service contracts, and will enter a transition period to wind down operations. During this transition period, Octazen will continue to honor existing service contracts and will remain your point-of-contact. We wanted to inform you as soon as possible to ensure you have adequate time to select another service provider without disruption to your business. We will do our best to work with you to ensure a smooth transition.

We will share additional details regarding our transition plan as they become available. In the meantime, we want to thank all of you for your business!

Best wishes,

The Octazen team

P.S. - If you've found this page and you are concerned because only see Octazen as an option, and don't see the Open Inviter option in the module, then its probably because you installed the other contact importer module "Drupal Contact Importer" or DCL. This seems to cause the Open Inviter option to not appear in the options for this module "Contact Importer".

I don't think removing it is a good idea because it's unique in its support for Thunderbird/Outlook and sites that already have the library need to continue to work. Also, as mentioned in the readme:

NOTE: Octazen appears to have been acquired by Lunar Systems. This engine will probably work with
the Lunarsys Contact Importer (perhaps with just a few minor tweaks):
http://nepal.lunarsys.com/12-ls-contact-importer.html

But perhaps the note should be expanded to say that until someone contributes patches to get it to work with Lunar Systems the module won't be useful for new installations.

We should also add a note in the main readme troubleshooting section about the naming conflict between DCL and Contact Importer.

Thinking about it yes, a more nuanced approach would be better, you are right. When I went to set up this module I gave up since Octazen was seemingly defunct and Open Inviter didn't show up.

Yes but some sort of little note on the Octazen submodule descriptor saying its currently not available for new members in its original form, at least temporarily, would be good.

I'll add a note to the DCL Importer module to warn users that it's incompatible with contact importer

Unassigning from me because we really need people that have used the Lunar Systems version to give details about their setup.

I am closing this issue, as Drupal 6 is now not supported.
