Enabling the 'geonames' module results in the following fatal error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function geonames_geocode_handler_info() in /var/www/druapal/sites/all/modules/geocode/geocode.module on line 95

./admin/build/modules becomes inaccessible until the (still enabled) 'geocode' module has been physically deleted from the server.
