"Administer -> menus" menu disappeared

Description
All of a sudden the administrator menu 'administer -> menus' has disappeared.
I manually typed in the url to get to the 'administer -> menus' node and I found that the "menus" menu had been 'disabled'. But I'm sure I didn't do it!
I have enabled it now, but how could this have happened?
