It would be great if we could add search terms by taking values from a cck_field from a certain content type, this way the nodes can have an associated hashtag which we can then display items in a block from.

I second this request. I need a search term (or set of terms) for each of about 400 nodes on my site, but that's way more characters than is currently allowed.
