I'm working with the signup module which uses a text editor window to send out "sign up" confirmations. However, I'm having trouble with CKEditor adding paragraph tags "<"p">" (without quotes) to outgoing emails. I've tried switching to the plain text editor, but the tags still end up in the email. If I disable CKeditor, everything works fine. If I remove the paragraph tags in the "source" mode, I loose my line breaks in the outgoing email.
Is this a known issue?
Are there existing work-arounds?
I opened an issue in the Signup area, but decided to post here, because it really appears to be a CKeditor issue and may be affecting other modules as well.
Thanks in advance for your help!!!!

ekh commentedI'm having the same problem, however, rather than disabling CKeditor I'm excluding it on certain pages (any pages that use CKeditor to produce email).
Go to Site Configuration, CKEditor, Global Settings. Click the Edit link for CKEditor Global Profile. Under Visibility Settings, select Exclude (which I believe is the default anyway) and add the appropriate pages under Fields to Exclude. For example,
node/*/signups/settings
admin/settings/signup
I'm told that it is actually the php email server that is responsible for not recognizing html email. This is beyond my expertise, so am settling for plain text confirmations and broadcasts.

stpaultim commented@ekh - Thanks, have not had time to try that yet, however it looks like a pretty good solution. Will take a closer look ASAP.
Didn't realize it was possible to exclude CKEditor from specific pages.

shredbig commentedDoes anyone know if there is away to use ckeditor on email templates?? I also have turned it off on the specific pages it was causing problem on but it would be great if it worked. I was having the same problem of getting a bunch of
tags in the text when the emails were sent out.

mkesicki commentedHi,
@suneelprakash this is drupal setting.
You can turn off this option in filters configuration (your drupal url + admin/settings/filters). Select filter you want to change and uncheck URL filter option.
