It looks like og2list munges html mail/rich text.

Outbound, "ed's request" on the web becomes "ed#039;s request" in e-mail.

Inbound, rich text loses its formatting, and loses cr/lf.

The apostrophe got encoded due to a misplaced check_plain and the other html needed to be allowed in the html filter.
