Hello, I just installed Drupal 4.7 in my desktop(running on localhost) yesterday. I plan to do all the customisation and tweaking there before I move to live site. I am wondering if there is anywhere I can get the handbook with the documentation on phptemplate engine, taxonomy etc, for download in maybe zip format. Any form, chm, pdf anything. This is because am not always online and to stay online to read all the documentation in the handbook, would be near impossible so i wish to have the documentation/handbook offline as reference while i work.Where I am, internet connection, is a challenge(if u know what I mean). I really would like to see if I can get this cms to work the way i want. I want to get an online membership based community portal. Thanks

Most of them are in `book' type - which means you can click on the `printer friendly version' and voila! All the pages and not just the current page, are printed.

Drupal.org doesnt install PDF output module - but the fastest way for you is go to the top of a book section, click printer friendly and get all the top and child pages.

Then just save them as HTML

Question : are these books up to date, ie 4.7 version ? What is the update frequency ?

The PDF handbooks on http://www.puregin.org/Drupal-handbooks are updated daily from Drupal.org.

As of today these PDF files download as empty documents.

His scripts were probably not updated when drupal.org was. You can use the print handbook link and print to pdf using several available packages for this.
