If you have an implied relationship, when an invite is sent and the user registers on the site only on relationship is setup and the implied relationship is not setup.

if the relationship is made with a user that is already in Drupal both relationships are made.

tested with both users having full access to all relationships. Not sure if this needs to be tested against a user not having the right to make one or both of the relationships.

both relationships that I have are one way strict

This is working as it is supposed to for me. Invited a new user and he got the invited relationship as well as the default upon following the invite link.
