From what I can guess some crop settings will make a crop grainy, because it is blown up to fill a certain area. I suggest that you add a configuration setting a) Warn if crop creates a zoom where each pixel in the original covers more than one pixel in the crop and a setting b) that forbids the creation of such crops.

pkej commentedI seconded myself, it was a bit late in the night :)
I also noticed that resizing the crop is problematic when the original is significantly larger than the crop. I suggest allowing the use of the scroll wheel on the mouse to resize the crop on such occasions. There is another way to perhaps do it. For each available crop show the exact crop size on screen as a viewport into the big image in the background. Let the user use the mouse to drag the big image around to reveal parts of it occluded by the viewport. Let the user use the scroll wheel to zoom in and out in the big original image.
This will let the user get a better idea of the crop. It will reveal any pixilation if you zoom to much into the image.
I don't know if I'm able to describe exactly what I mean, but I have a link to a posting I did on this a couple of years back, with a picture illustrating it, somewhat: http://groups.drupal.org/node/8266

yvmarques commentedHi,
I understand problem, when I've created the module, I would like add preview cropped image, but, some images are too big for the preview (or preset also).
Now, I've think and, for me, the best solution add new button "Preview" who open new dialog with the preview image.
I would like rethink dialog disposition and if someone have any idea (explain with wireframes or other) i'ts welcome :-)
On official website of Jcrop you can see an example with preview. http://deepliquid.com/projects/Jcrop/demos.php?demo=thumbnail

pkej commentedThe demo works very well, it seems to be a good solution, if you can combine it with the existing interface it would be great.
