Content not saved while adding translations

Hi all,

Here are details related to my drupal language setup.
On page "admin/settings/language/" various settings are as follows:-

1) List :: Number of languages = 2 (english and french) and default language is french.

2) Configure :: I have "language negotiation" option selected to "Path prefix only".

3) Multilingual system :: In the "Content selection" fieldset, option selected is "Current language and language neutral"

Also I have enabled translation settings for content types also.
In the "Workflow settings" for the content type I have "Multilingual support = Enabled, with translation".

Now problem is when I try to translate content related to content type A, I select the language to french and then add translation in english.
So I get the content which is entered in french, in the english part but as I click on the save button for saving the translation there is no content there.
So when i enter the whole content again for english part and then click save only then it is getting saved. In this content type I have more than 50 fields created by CCK so its trouble adding those fields again.

Does anybody has the solution for saving the translations on first go?
