When a user submits a link, The link is not linked anywhere. I uploaded node-storylink.tpl.php to my theme directory, however it just linked the top of the story to the node url, not the user link. Is there a reason? And how can I fix this?

When you use "node-storylink.tpl.php" the node title is a link to the original article. Do you want it some other way?

I would like the story to be linked from other pages on my site to that node, but when you're in the node, there is no link to the external site. Is there a way to enable this?

Could you explain that in some more detail? I not sure I understand the above explanation.

Currently, even after I've uploaded the node-storylink.tpl.php to the themes directory, users only see the node URL on the entire site and in the node, and there is no link to the external page that the user added in the storylink. What I'd like is to have the node URL linked on my website, similar to digg, then when a user is in the node, they can click the node title, and goto the external page.

So on the frontpage (and other pages on my site), the node is linked, but when you're on the /node/[nid], the title is linking to the external site.

Currently on the front page (and other pages on my site), the node is linked, but when you're on the /node/[nid], the title linking to the NID.

I still do not get what you really are after.

Take a look at my demo site http://vigillar.se. There you can see how node-storylink.tpl.php work. Is that what you want on your site?

That is how I want it to work. However the title is just linking to whatever page you're one, so when you're on http://www.site.com/node and the storylink is on the front page, it's linking http://www.site.com/node, and when you're in the storylinks page, eg http://www.site.com/node/6, the title is linking http://www.site.com/node/6.

I'm using the combustion theme if there might be an error with it.

Put a copy of node-storylink.tpl.php in to themes/bluemarine and temporarily switch to the Bluemarine theme. It it works then you know the problem is the combustion theme.

I uploaded template.php to my template directory and it solved my issue.

I am still having this problem even after following the instructions above. I am using the combustion theme, but I change it to bluemarine and it still didn't work after copying the right files and everything. What is wrong here?

Fixed the problem. Nevermind. You have to upload the template.php from the vote up down package. LOL
