Hello

I have developed couple of websites and uploaded in a web server which are running properly. That server has lots of restriction . So I wanna transfer my websites to Bluehost. I need some suggestion from people who have experience with blue host.

1. I want to upload my website manually. (not using fantastico / simple script). have you face any problem while uploading drupal website manually.

2. I developed my sites in wamp server in my pc. But Bluehost provides lynux server. Will there be any issue? or what changes I need to do to make it suitable for lynux server.

3. In bluehost, the host name of database is localhost. Previously I tried another service where the hostname of database was also localhost. But I was unable to connect my site with its database using localhost. The site status was offline. ( for your information in my present web server the host name of database is "mysql1.host22.com" which is working properly). Has anyone experienced this problem with Bluehost?

All those should work.

You can find the name of your MySQL database in cPanel, and then set it in your settings.php.

As far as I know, Bluehost is cPanel-based and you should be able to use the database hostname as "localhost". If that doesn't work give their support a shout, I am sure they will be able to answer that question as it IS a server-related questions and not really a drupal related question.

I have a site up on Blue Host you should not have a problem doing a manual upload. Just make sure you have the right settings and permissions on the files and folders needed.
