I set up a new product with UC Variable Price and UC Paypal Buttons on a Sandbox.
It is a donation product, so all I need is the "Buy Now" button (not Add to cart).
However, no matter what I have tried, every time I submit the form the resulting Paypal (Sandbox) page shows "Unit Price" as "0".
Is it a critical but -- or am I missing something in the configuration?

vacilando commentedUpdate:
In fact what happens is that the "Buy Now" button simply takes the Sell Price from Product information (thus "0" or whatever you have set there).
I am using a UC Variable Price (http://drupal.org/project/uc_varprice) field, but whatever amount I submit, Paypal (Sandbox) always receives the default (not the variable) value.
Please help...

vacilando commentedSame is true for the variable field provided by Ubercart Donation Products (http://drupal.org/project/uc_donation). Seems like the "Buy Now" form is not taking into account the variable value, somehow?

MasterChief commentedHi vacilando,
i just send an email to the maintainer.
I would like a field where the user enter a price and he checkout directly with paypal so i think i have the same need than you.
I hope to see him soon on this topic.

I'm having a similar problem that I thought might have been related to using UC Node Checkout with too many fields. (The task involves registering students for classes with a non-profit "pay what you can" organization.)
It was definitely working correctly when I had a) a very small registration form (just collecting the name) and b) COD/Checks as the only payment options. I'm mentioning it here because both "buy now" and node checkout involve jumping to what amounts to intermediate pages between selecting Add to Cart and UC's cart (review/remove/continue-shopping) page. UC's obviously storing what product was selected but maybe its not holding on to the variable-price variable.
Since the node checkout registration form amounts to a financial aid request to go with the reduced payment this bug is kind of a showstopper for my task.

mrtoner commentedI can say with some authority that this module was not written with the Donation button in mind. It's sole purpose is to allow the user to create Buy Now and Subscription buttons, using fixed prices set by the user for each product. At best this issue could be listed as a feature request, but it's current behavior is as intended.
