I believe it would add quite a bit of flexibility to this module if the Navigation block could be split up in two separate modules. Blog Archive that manages a single users blog archive like it does when you read an individual blog post or is at the bloggers blog home page.
Then the rest can stay in the Navigation block.
On the site I am working on it will be a single blog so it only have the need for the archive part. Since I am using the Context module it makes it a bit more complicated to configure since the don't show on pages settings for the block is overridden by Context. Thus I need to set up several Contexts to avoid showing this block on certain pages.

svendecabooterThat makes perfect sense...
I'll have to think how to provide a smooth upgrade path though for people expecting the behavior as it currently is...

tsvenson commentedJust a thought.
How about leaving the existing functionality as it is and rename it to "Navigation (old)" and in the description say it will be removed at some stage in the future.
The create two new blocks - Blog Archive and Blog Navigation.
That way everyone will have an easy migration path as well as make the needed adjustments to their site easily.
