my site has 3 domains pointing to the same site and it seems I can only create a sitemap for 1 domain. Is there a way to have it sent out from multiple domains?

Are you using the Domain access module? If you are, you can download and enable the Domain XML sitemap integration module.

also curious if it's necessary to have one for both http://www.site and http://site

oop sorry Dave didn't see your response, I am not and will check those out now.

@#2: No, you don't want two separate sitemaps or sites for www and non-www. The module should show the same default sitemap.

Domain access seems to be way more involved than what I need to do. all domains will have the same access to everything and users can sign in or register from any domain, although if they jump between domainis it logs them out.

just need a way to submit a sitemap for multiple domain names... single sign on for users would be a bonus.

If you have the same content on multiple sites, it's likely you may be penalized by Google as they frown on duplicate content. I would recommend investigating your setup to try and make the domains more unique.
