right well if you had read anything, anywhere, you may have realised that drupal have a core, and many other blog modules. Just go to Admin - Site Building - Modules and enable it.

If by "simple blog" you mean a blog just for yourself, Drupal's front page is already a blog. It lists your recent posts which you have set to "published" and "promoted".

blog with list of:
link
date
text

and list of the links in a sidebar,

I am the only one who updates it.

Will the core blog do it?

Sure.

For links in a sidebar, go to Administer>>Site building>>Blocks, find the "Recent blog posts" block, select the sidebar where you want it, and save.

good, so how I can change the blog entry date format display to show simpler date?

In Administer>>Settings>>Date and time, "Formats" tab.

But you need to explore/search/read, otherwise you will soon feel the need to abandon Drupal. Usually people (myself included) are not interested in answering navigation questions like these.

I was talking about the blog entry date/time, it shows as calendar icon instead of the usual date/time.

Normally no. The theme which you have selected does that.

How about using views for blog instead of the blog module? It a list of 3 fields (link, date, text) repeated.

Sure, that is fine.
