Say you have autotagging set to tag automatically without supervision, and you don't want your users choosing their own tags, or modifying the automatically generated ones.
for these situations, it would be nice when turning autotagging on for a vocabulary, if you could also choose to hide the taxonomy select box from certain roles.

sdrycroft commentedThis issue looks to be relevant to v2 of the module, and actually makes quite a bit of sense. I'll consider putting this in.
firebug commentedyes this would be great. I am creating "groups" by creating relating content type, vocabulary terms, and roles. (this way i can assign authors to each group with having formal membership lists). The only thing is that if someone adds a new content to that content type it shows the tax select with the correct default but you can change it ...would like to turn it into a hidden form variable FOR THAT CONTENT TYPE..
Thanks

itserich commentedWondering if anything became of this?
This could also be helpful with the Mailhandler module which allows adding for taxonomy terms at content creation.

sdrycroft commentedApologies, Autotag has not seen much love recently. This could still be developed in the 7.x version of the module. I could add an option to hide the "Field to populate" field.
