Hello,

I have 5 months of experience in drupal.i completed one project in drupal and i am continuing another project in drupal. many of my friends are telling that having knowledge of drupal like cms would not give a shape to your career. i just want to know is it real.
that having knowledge of drupal like cms would not a way for my future please give a suitable answer so i can reply them with good answer.

as my knowledge is concern drupal is the best cms i ever seen.

please forward me with a reply and how to master the drupal

i have good knowledge in the basic of drupal,taxanomy,cck,views etc.
and what i need to concertrate to know as a good drupal developer.

All I can say is follow your heart. If you believe that Drupal is for you then continue.

As far as what you need to know to become a good or even great Drupal developer depends on what you put in and getting involve.

I am not a Drupal developer nor a web developer but a Drupal hobbyist and I love Drupal. Compared to other CMS, I wouldn't trade it for anything else. I have been using Drupal for more than 3 years and I am glad to suggest Drupal to others.

What answer to give your colleagues, I don't know, have they even tried Drupal?

Drupal is a great CMS. There is nothing that can beat it today. Whether it is a right career choice or rather put it this way - are there better options? Depends on what you are looking for.

Drupal is great for short gigs/short projects. You can get 90% of site built quickly ( and you'll have to do it again and again till you hate it after few years - unless you get into a perm position working on single product) and last 10% will give you lot of frustration. Only experienced developers can plan things well in advance.

There is a difference between Career v/s Job. Drupal is on a high growth trajectory and there is clear demand now. It also has lot more resources available. Also is true that many Jr resources who started working in Drupal and working as employee have moved out to something else. Why?

Think about Java Developers or .NET developers - they are working in it for years and years. As a career choice, you can start looking at "Programming in Ruby" and give it a serious consideration.

It's difficult to talk about careers when the web is concerned, since the field itself completely changes every five years (in the last five years Ruby on Rails happened, YouTube happened, jQuery happened, etc, etc).

Drupal is a great choice right now.
Looks like you already have the basics nailed, so I suggest that you get up to speed with Drupal 7 improvements (Field API, etc), and work on improving your english (which will benefit you most in the short, medium and long run).
