On the tread http://drupal.org/node/779498 they have a proposed module with some great work. I don't check the both code but I think a merge is not a bad idea.

Nice

I check the code of the Facebook like (600 lines). Of my point if view Facebook social plugins (200 lines) is more easy to read, simple and have relay less code.
