Setting the expiration date on nodes does not appear to lead to expiration--the nodes are displayed on the home page after the expiration date.

This seems to be a module issue and not a core issue. This report is not really helpful at all.

Note: 6.13 is way too old to use unless you patched it manually to avoid security risks.
