emf commentedIn a 2 vertical column mini panel, if I change the Display settings Default style to Tabs > (any of the horizontal options) > Save, I get the error:
Unable to complete operation. Fatal error in sites/all/modules/panels/includes/display-edit.inc on line 1628: Function name must be a stringYour tabs disappeared on an existing panel, mine won't create at all on a new panel (with latest module revisions). Thought this might be helpful.

iamjon commentedHi Bennos,
I've got the same issue this is what I get from watchdog
call_user_func_array(): First argument is expected to be a valid callback, 'theme_panels_tabs_style_render_panel' was given - /www/drupal6/includes/theme.inc - 656. sor.

jamesfk commentedSame problem here, the last upgrade of ctools and panels stopped the tabs from appearing, but then the latest panels tabs release sorted this, sadly however the even more recent update of ctools and panels has done the same!

Which version of ctoos and panels?
merlinofchaos has released a new ctools version 1.6. Some patches are not in 1.5, but now in 1.6.
We should work on a solution to get panels 1.5 and ctools 1.6 and Tabs working.
All error you can find, post here. Patches are welcome.

jamesfk commentedHi @bennos,
This has just got a little more complex as I notice ctools has just released a further update from 1.5 to 1.6, however having applied the update I'm still getting the same issues.
I'm using the latest versions of all modules as follows:
Chaos tool suite 6.x-1.6
Panels 6.x-3.5
Tabs panel style 6.x-1.0-beta2
The last update to ctools and panels stopped panels tabs from working, but the beta2 release of tabs panel style fixed the problem.
The symptoms after this latest ctools/panels upgrade are basically the same, and panel pages with tabs show only the title and no content.
The following error also appears on a panel page using the tabs style:
warning: call_user_func_array() [function.call-user-func-array]: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, 'theme_panels_tabs_style_render_panel' was given in /mnt/www/html/intlbacc/docroot/includes/theme.inc on line 656.
I'll try and do some more debugging this afternoon and post my findings here, but you should be able to replicate the issue with the latest releases of all 3 modules.

dawehnerThis is now fixed in dev version.
dawehnerThis is not fixed yet. It's sadly somehow a problem of panels/ctools.
jamesfk commentedHi @dereine - thanks for looking at this, I applied the patch, cleared the cache and it appeared to work, however on further views the panels display the same error message again, so it looks like clearing the cache somehow allows one view, but the dev version didn't fix the problem.
iamjon commentedI can confirm with jameskf,
I'm running :
Chaos tool 6.x-1.6
Panels 6.x-3.5
Tabs panel style 6.x-1.x-dev
Ran update.php and cleared the caches.
It appears once, then after refresh dissapears.
Watchdog gives me this:
call_user_func_array(): First argument is expected to be a valid callback, 'theme_panels_tabs_style_render_panel' was given in /www/drupal6/includes/theme.inc on line 656.
Thank you dereine

dawehnerFor me this seams to be the same problem as the edit problem. The file/path of the $style definition is not current always.
dawehnerThis is fixed now with the beta3
