Path Filter module not working with Front Page module?

I have installed the Path Filter module which works fine in standard nodes, but it does not seem to work together with the Front Page module I've installed.

I've created the desired layout in a spare page and copied the html to the appropriate space in the Front Page menu (Front Page for anonymous user). It all works well, except for a hyperlink to another internal page. The same link works fine on the spare page. What am I doing wrong? Why does the path "internal:/somepage" work in a standard page, but not when the html is pasted into the Front Page configuration menu?
