I've looked through the handbook, and I've searched in the issue queue, but I can't seem to find any information on how to convert data and files from upload.module in an existing installation. Is there a way to do this?

I have not seen a direct tutorial for this operation, though there are guides to converting various other modules (Image, Audio, Video) to FileField under the handbook: http://drupal.org/handbook/modules/filefield
