When you add an item to the cart you get this message;

'Please Wait
Add products to cart.

'Cart
You Item(s) have been updated'

For my site, although the cart contence does change, Im not getting this message.

This is especially an issue when theirs lots of products on a page and you have to scroll to see them all, then if you add a product and cant see the cart block you dont know that its been added.

I think this message function is not implemented in you version of "Ubercart ajax cart". Try to update to version 6.x-2.0-beta2 ( http://drupal.org/node/787054 ) or the newest release. Hope it help.
