Currently only widgets provided by the imagefield module are recognized. It would be nice if other modules could register that they provide image widgets for the CCK filefield type (for example, image_fupload's image_fupload_imagefield).

I would love to second this feature request! We use swfupload, which is another bulk image uploader similar to fupload, and use's cck's filefield as a dependency
