Overview: Mailhandler works fine and devseed has added it into the OA install profile. The only problem is that currently Mailhandler and OG do not play well nicely. There have been several attempts to get this working which have been compiled here:

I'd like to sponsor creating a feature for OA which either extends/fixes mail2og. Users should be able to email content to a specific email address/mailbox inside mailhandler, which then processes the content and posts it to the correct group on the site. Any questions please ask.

What is the price of the bounty? And, what is wrong with Mail to OG? On the surface, it looks ok and sounds good going by its module page.

Mail2og does not work with openatrium, bounty is $1000.

Thanks for the clarification and I think it would be possible to create the functionality you want. Though, I am unsure whether you can do it through Mail2og. I will take a look at this after work.

It sounds like http://github.com/ianshward/Mail-Group comes pretty close to what you're looking to do. Each user gets a tokenized email address to send to for each group to which they belong. There are still some todos on the Mailgroup module which are noted in the README. Also, Mailgroup is a "feature" and configurable w/in each group in OA.
