This functionality could certainly be useful to both the Aegir and Registrar API projects.

I have updating this to D7 on my TODO list, mainly because I maintain numerous DNS zone files that are very closely tied to the websites they host. I talked to the maintainer a looooong time ago but lost all my spare time very shortly after that.

The implementation screams for a new Entity & Fields in D7.

Is there interest in a D6 version? I've moved on from D6 now and have only a passing interest in it.

Do the Aegir and Registrar API projects still need this kind of functionality?

I still have no idea when I will get to this as it requires me to have some spare time!
