During install of a subdomain on a going Drupal site, during running the install.php it jsut stops with a blank screen and Done in the browser status bar. Just after Local Module flashes up on the install process. I do have writable default.setttings.php and settings.php. Main domain website works fine, just cant get install to complete now on this subdomain (original install done some time ago)
Most or perhaps all of the database tables are created, but the prompt for the fist admin user is not done. If I try running the website itself, it does show drupal, but no users of any authority to do anything, confirmig its not complete.
User roles in the MySql tables do not include super user, and there is a 'placeholder-for-user-1' user in the users table.
Clearly its crashed. I dont seem on my website hosting ftp to see any files that could be a log file - where should it be? Dont have any /var/log etc. on the install dir on the web server I can find

Firefox 3 browser, but also tried an old MSIE, same.
Disabled & Deleted the translation language installs, but site has had mulilingual on it, and lots of .po files in the modules area, but I think I have all this pretty well turned off....
