Great idea, nice site.
Guess you should change the background of the blocks around the "page" somewhat -- I starred on the screen for some twenty minutes but it was like a brain eraser -- couldn't find out what it is, but there's definitely something "wrong". I proceeded to the page with the flowers in the background and it didn't load in minutes. Really slow, and the background of some divs seemed to be missing, the menu appeared as green letters on that flower-background.
However, it made me thing that you might want to lower the somewhat harsh contrast on the front page, and maybe some textured/structured background will do the blocks good. Especially the block under the calendar looks "empty" -- well, actually it is, but it looks like somebody had forgotten to put something to this spot... Even an empty brick wall would look better.
However, it's still a nice concept, but I think it needs some graphic artistry to make the page feel right.
