It’s possible for you to add a feature where the all family as to share the same taxonomy term. For example if one of the nodes as taxonomy term set, all of them get the same taxonomy term.

yeah, however I see no need to add this as default behaviour.
If you are interested in building this I would suggest to build it as a separate small module, which uses the nodefamily API. Of course we could add some further hooks to nodefamily, if it's necessary.
