I'm glad it is powerd by my module :-)

I would like to know what have been the modification to the video module...

mudanoman - September 1, 2006 - 19:48

Fabio,

We definitely want to contribute the platform back to the community once we have everything ironed out. Keep in touch.

Best,

Ivan

Here was a quote from Flixya's recent release:

Share Everything
Built on a customized version of Drupal, both co-founders of Flixya, agree that releasing the video platform back to the open source community and remaining competitive is challenging, but not impossible. "All revenue collected for the month of August is being donated to charity," explained co-founder Adam Oliver. "We embrace the opportunity to give back to the community. This is our commitment to contributing to worthwhile causes."

True to the motto share everything, Flixya is working on releasing an open source video platform.

revenues share

TheSterlingJoe - October 6, 2007 - 07:05

I am interested in how do the revenue sharing model works. The blogger will earn 100 percent of revenues and this lead me to wonder how do flixya earns to support the operation. I am interested in starting a community blog using revenue sharing model.

Thanks,

TheSterlingJoe

Very easy to share/embed video.

gusaus - September 1, 2006 - 19:47

I appreciate how easy it is to embed/share video on your site. Still trying to figure out the video module inso you don't have to enter such variables as video size, file size, and playtime info. Any clues?

Well done site and concept!

Gus

please share the features

3dsoft - September 5, 2006 - 19:53

Very nice site! I hope that you guys are going to share the video features you added to fax8's video module. ;)

Design

Michael M - September 7, 2006 - 22:03

The thing that I think stands out is the theme. It doesn't look like the cookie-cutter drupal site.

How much does a design like that cost? I worked for a company as a web developer and a theme/design would cost about $800. I want to know how much other people charge.

Cool tagging system

kenwen - September 28, 2006 - 12:52

How did you get the tagging system on the front page?

I'm looking at something similar so any hints/advice would be great

PS. I know about tagadelic but really interested in how you got the tags and other content together

Ken, Thanks. Its actually

mudanoman - September 29, 2006 - 23:35

Ken,

Thanks. Its actually just Tagadelic and calling page_chunk:

<?php
print tagadelic_page_chunk();
?>

We removed it recently since it slows the page load considerably.

I believe Ber (tagadelic mod developer) and some others are working on a caching system which will make it more ideal.

Cheers,

Ivan

Great Site

kraigc - September 2, 2007 - 18:39

Im new to the drupal community and want to create a similar site for a different sport, what module did you use? thanks Fabio!!

We are considering releasing

mudanoman - November 17, 2006 - 04:27

We are considering releasing the Flixya code back to the community soon, but would like to work with someone or get some help on how to move forth. Due to the dependency of various modules, we believe its best to keep it packaged as an entire package. Feel free to contact me at ivan flixya.com . Best, Ivan

PS. The hesitations hold us back are some hiccups in the code, which we are trying to iron out.

Could you list all the drupal modules you have used to make this video site? It's so well customized that I didn't believe this was a Drupal site. How do you make those "embed video" stuff, for example? Anyway, thanks :)

if you are using video module can you kindly tell the following

How to stop various file types eg. exe, .doc getting uploaded ??
There seems to be NO configurable option to bloack or allow certain file types.
How much risk this can be to security ?

How to limit the size of a single uploadable video file to 'N' kbs ?
