If I view my content in source 'html' mode or switch the TinyMCE WYSIWYG editor off-and-on (using the disable rich-text link), I lose my value attribute from a hidden INPUT field, but only in IE. Has anyone had this experience before and know how to sort it out?

Yes I have this issue I drupal 5, I can find no resolution
