killes@www.drop.org commentedWithout knowing more of the story I think this is not warranted, but I'll let others decide.
skyredwangI was asking a question to my community based on some hypothesis. and you think I should get banned? My intention was to raise the awareness of being liberal, which I thought was lack of during the resolution of the NYC community conflict.
avpaderno@skyredwang: Your comment is OT.
Drupal doesn't make any differences between the uploaded files; therefore, there is no reason to exactly describe what the users are uploading, or what the purpose of the site is, to get an answer about how to resolve a problem, or about the better way to implement something.
skyredwang results blocked on g.d.o, but not on d.o. Is there anybody else who thinks the ban should be extended?
gregglesI don't think this should have resulted in a ban. I think it's especially ironic and unfair given the comments people have made that have been tolerated for ~1 year to just ban skyredwang for posting what I believe was an honest hypothetical question.
I'm unblocking on g.d.o pending further discussion.
FYI, if you want to block on g.d.o you just block them on d.o There is a link from the g.d.o profile to the "master" profile.

chx commentedThis is indeed overdue long and if the only problem is that others were tolerated then add litwol and whoever else too. High time there is action instead of talk.

chx commentedCan we ban just from g.d.o. ? (MySQL query?) or do we want to give a message to the world that this is not tolerated at all and just ban from d.o.? How far does meritocracy go? If you contributed enough, you can do whatever? I am a bit hesistant in this.
skyredwangYes, my words in the comment were "too" descriptive. But, I didn't express any personal judgement, and my standing and language was neutral. I intentionally and exaggeratedly made the question proactive, and want people to rethink some decisions made for the past incidents.
skyredwangI didn't want to change the title; the thread got updated before I finish writing.
frankcarey commentedThough skyredwang's comment wasn't very useful to the conversation at hand, I don't think it was offensive or trolling. It concerns me that so much heavy handed action is being taken from above the NYC community level, without the community's request or involvement. The structure of our community is changing for the better, and we should be able to handle such incidences in-house. OPS, both on g.d.o and #IRC should have the availability to make immediate decisions on banning obviously inappropriate users, but please respect that most of the policing and the decision making should rest with the individual community. I haven't seen anyone in the NYC community calling for skyred's banning, or even that he offended anyone with his comments. Please, let's not become over-zealous to make up for our past complacency.

litwol commentedlets see..
1) yes i was [arguably] inappropriate at times
2) yes i was asked to stop, i did for a while and then things happened to repeat themselves, see (1).
3) hmm. wont bore you with details.
I think it is impossible to close accounts on 1 site and keep it open on the other due to bakery. In light of that i also do not want my projects to simply become abandoned/unmaintained. I'd like to find people to hand off project maintenance to some one. How do i go about finding people? i mean i know how in general "post in forum, post in irc, etc etc", but i hope to find some one consistent that can handle this for year(s) to come as i have.
So if at all possible i'd like some time to hand off projects before the hammer of justice brought down.
avpadernoIt is possible to ban just from g.d.o; the problem is that most of the time the page would make you wait an eternity.
litwol commentedLets make it easy then, and a lot of people happy.
P.S. the subject refers to me of course.
avpadernoI think that the account on d.o could be left unblocked, while the account on g.d.o is blocked. Bakery makes distinction between the master server, and the client server. Then, it's what happened in this case, where the d.o account was still enabled, while the account on g.d.o was blocked.
@litwol: I don't think this report is about you. :-)

This is not funny. This is not the first time that you stir trouble in the community, and pretend/think it is funny.
chx commentedper #15 then I guess it's time to update the issue title
Comment #17
litwol commentedI am not making fun, i am quite serious in my statement. please do it. i rather not have the issue become more exaggerated.

gregglesAs far as I can tell the original issue is fixed.

bibo commentedI followed to here from chx's comment on skyredwang's profile for Drupal Association elections.
My personal opinion is that chx seemed to misunderstand skyredwang's intentions. Initially I wouldn't have voted skyredwang to the top, but I will do it because trying to ban him without proper cause seems completely unjustified to me.
Also, no offense to chx, of course I appreciate your work. This seems more like a cultural misunderstanding to me.
About the actual vote: having at least one qualified asian representative seems important to me. And no, I have no connection to skyredwang, and was not paid/forced/tortured for making this comment.
