Hello,
I was wondering if we may be able to expect a stable release of Custom Submit Messages sometime in the near future (I see the latest is 6.x-1.0-alpha4)? Thanks very much for this great module!

Thanks for the appreciation - it means a lot!
The current release is pretty much "stable"; my advice would be that if you're not getting any issues when using CSM on your specific project, then use the current alpha release. If you are getting specific issues then please add them to the issue queue and I'll deal with them in due course.
For the record, I often use alpha, beta, and even dev modules on relatively large production sites and don't experience too many problems. The decision of whether a module should be listed as alpha, beta, dev or whatever is up to the individual developer, and one developer's idea of "beta" may well be another developer's idea of "dev". I know what you mean, though; I recently used a module on a project that was listed as "dev"; another developer I had employed had chosen a different module to perform the same task, having disregarded the final choice because it appeared bright red on the module's listing page. This is a problem with drupal.org, though, in my view.
Choosing modules is a dark art; one place to start is http://www.nicklewis.org/40-essential-drupal-6-modules.
As for a more concrete answer to your specific question: I'm in Copenhagen at the moment for Drupalcon so will be in a Drupal frame of mind; I reckon a beta release should be possible by the end of the week.

jim0203 commentedThe 6.x version of the module is now at version 1.0 and is being used on quite a few sites, with no new bug reports for a while. I'm working on an alpha release for 7.x; it'll be here soon!
