Hi everyone,
I'm still new to the whole Drupal thing. I recently got an idea of a bookmarking community site with extra features, and was wondering if Drupal would work. It's like del.icio.us or other book marking sites that allow people to bookmark their favorite sites and save it in their accounts. Moreover, they have people vote for their favorite sites... Also, there are some other things that I was thinking of that's completely original and am still not sure if I should tell anyone. Well, just wondering, is Drupal suitable? Also, since Im not much of a coder or programmer, if I really decide to use Drupal, would anyone be able to help me out, with Drupal and also advancing my idea? Any replies would be appreciated!

hey there, As for
hey there,
As for socialbookmarking it is not really possible now out of the box with all the features you would expect, but there are definately a couple of modules to check out...I would use a modified version of userlinks module to get a really close to delicious fonctionnality.. The was also Tagmark but at last news it did not really work with the link package but maybe it was updated since I looked... I really liked userlinks, but it lacked features like counting the number of persons that added the same link, etc..
There is also a nre module coming that will let people TAG nodes with their own TAGS so a node can have public tags AND personal tags for each user.. that would make a base for a really clean and sweet niche search engine!
Regarding your other ideas, I can,t tell you avout drupal and those because I don,t know what it is about... But as a general rule I think you can do everything with drupal, it juste depends if your ready to pay for a custom module if (IF) needed.
ope that helps little
