I was denied for textlinkads. They claimed it was because I lacked traffic/popularity AND because I was selling text ads. Well, I'm not selling text ads, but I do have the weblink module (because I want to track clicks) and I also have amazon associate tools, which does not sell text ads, but allows me to do referrals from my own reviews.

They of course did not respond to me when I informed them that they did not know what they are talking about.

I filed this as a feature request and not a bug because perhaps you disagree that any mention should go into the document, but maybe something would be nice. It certainly would have saved me from wasting my time on them. In addition, your description for getting started is incorrect, since it makes no mention at all of the site survey that they will carry out incorrectly.

Fair enough. We'll keep your experience here as documentation. TLA.com is, of course, free to carry out their business however they please, and their algorithms for acceptance and selection are not published anywhere in detail. Plus they are a fast-moving company that is constantly changing. My interest in the module includes making sure it works well with people who are able to get accounts with them.

Thanks for your report, sorry you didn't have a better experience.

Yeah, I don't expect you to drop a bomb on them or anything, I'm sure many people have had better experiences - all I think is probably appropriate is just a warning that they may misevaluate content on your site. Thanks for listening and responding!

Well - I'm doing business with text-link-ads for 3 years as buyer and seller and must chime in that they don't deserve to be put into such a negative light.

Could you maybe post your site in question, so we get an idea what type of content and quality they rejected? which Alexa, PR, Backlinks counts does it have and how many links are already there on your site?

I'd love to, but someone attacked it with a botnet (apparently) and my hosting company (vr.org) totally dropped the ball and I haven't even been able to retrieve the full contents of my site to put it back together again. I'm retrieving the database now (their copy of the web mysql admin created a lovely half-snapshot of my database for me, but this time I used mysqldump.)

Anyway they specifically said they rejected me for having text advertisement links, which was not the case.

I'm dumbfounded. While I understand the frustration of being turned down by TLA (I've had several sites turned down for various vague reasons), the textlinkads module serves a useful purpose to those who use the TLA service.

This is not the place to debate the policies of the TLA service, as neither the author of this module or its users have anything to do with those policies.

This issue has nothing to do with the textlinkads module, and should be closed immediately.
