Someone once told me that Drupal (as well as other standard or open source platforms) always turns websites into standard looking discounted off the shelf looking sites with poor user journeys. In short: ugly and annoying websites. Well, I decided to give it a go when setting up my first online venture, a webstore selling Danish designed fashion aimed at plus size women in the UK. Launching last week I think we have done a fairly good job so far. We still have some bugs to fix and loads of improvements to make, but feel free to get inspiration on kurvs.co.uk.
All the best

This one IS nice. A bit too dark to my taste but quite so polished.
And those who say all CMS sites are poorly designed... well, get a good developer and a talented designer. kurvs.co.uk is a great example.
And btw there are more nice drupal sites at http://www.drupalsites.net
Cheers,
Andrey

Can be done indeed, but good stuff takes skill. http://www.drupalmuseum.com/
Drupal itself is not an impediment, it's up to the abilities and inspiration of the developer and designer.
kurvs.co.uk looks nice - no compromise there :-) Good result for a first venture indeed!

I think that Drupal is unreal, you can do pretty much anything you want if you are prepared to learn from the ground up. Think outside the box and you can create any kind of site with any style of layout you can imagine.
I still have lots to learn myself, but I think that Drupal is the bee's knees :)

Good Work!
Very nice - I like the dark, clean design - it looks professional. Im guessing you did some of this in panels?
A question or 2: how did you get the overlay light up on the look book? And what makes the shopping basket appear on over?
Thanks and good job,
joe

Hi Joe,
Oh, I'm not the developer, just making the specs. So can't provide you with the exact tech info. Sorry.
