Node Read Counter

The "Reads" counter at the bottom of each node increments every time the node is accessed, including it's initial post. I'd prefer to increment only for unique IPs. Before I start writing a fix myself, is there a module or setting that does this? I couldn't find anything under the stats modules, which is where I'd think it would be.
