Advanced Help system

I am trying to understand how the Hel system works (if any!). I have installed the Advanced Help module and enabled it and it's sidekick but I see no "Help" text anywhere. Am I to assume this system displays help text say when a user is editing or the Admin configuring something? I also wonder if nothing happens unless a particular module actually has embedded help text!

Can someone put me on the right track?
