hi guys,
we are testing your module right now and think about an option to
set the rate on a monthly rate.
the idea is to get our customers a discount on a monthly rate.
means that the get a for example a 5% discount if the monthly amount.
maybe in a combination the the total amount.
problem we see with the total amount is that the both products for 5000€ and the the highest
discount we offer all the time.
and we also would like to handle the discount rates by user role.
we could like to offer something like reseller contracts for example?
did u get the idea?
is this possible?
thanks a lot

ygerasimov commentedHi Rob,
Regarding month rate. Could you please clarify the idea?
Example:
If during one month user bought products for 1000EUR and gets 3% of discount and on the next month user bought only 200EUR (that is only 1%) what happening then? Should we decrease his discount or he still should get 3%?
Regarding role based discount I believe it is nice idea but it is not the one followed by this module. Please check other modules (http://drupal.org/project/modules?filters=drupal_core%3A87&text=discount). If nothing comes up please let me know.
Best regards,

rlange77 commentedHi Yuriy,
Thanks for the reply.
Ok.
Idea is to get customers a discount based on the spent amount per month (or 3 months etc).
Example
first month: 2000€ => 3% discount
second month: 100€ => no discount
third month: 1000€ => 1.5% discount
Means if they dont keep spending a lot of money the will loss the benfit of the discount level.
Like lets say if you have 3 different reseller levels
Reseller Bronze (2.5% discount) based on a 6 month amount of 1250€
Reseller Silver (5% discount) based on a 6 month amount of 2500€
Reseller GOLD (7.5% discount) based on a 6 month amount of 5000€
so if a customer spent 3000€ in the last 6 month he should get 5% of any order.
but if he doesnt buy anything for one month and the amount he spent in the last 6 month decrease below
2500€ he should get just 2.5% discount until he is up the next level again.
my idea is that customer may spend much for one time and get into a Reseller level but after that they just buy less products and spent less money. but as a reseller they should order more products to make the reseller level worth to us as well.
like for example:
you spend 5000€ for one big order and never come back for the next 12 months. but as you ordered for 5000€ you get 7.5% discount one your next 10€ order. this doesnt make any sense to us.
and we also like to have in the reseller order
did you get my idea?

ygerasimov commentedYes. I believe idea is nice and clear. We will need to have settings for what timeframe we collect the total sum. This should be flexible enough.

ORSM :)
any may an option what they need to pay within the next 10 days (for example) to get the discount or the need to pay the full price if the pay after that :)
u know what i mean?
"settlement within 10 days of delivery entitles you to 2% discount off the normal price"

ygerasimov commentedI don't think this functionality should be included in this module as it is not connected with total purchase sum. I believe it should be something separate. Is it realistically needed? I have never faced anything like this (pay in 10 days and get 2% discount).

rlange77 commenteddont be worry about this part, mate.
but yes. here in germany it is a usually way to deal with customers.
i create my invoices as pdf with a script. and this makes it easy for my to add some lines with the conditions :)
